Scheduled
Please be informed that we will be undergoing a scheduled Production Maintenance Activity on July 1st, 2021, with no service impact.

However, following the maintenance, a new default request rate limits for SMS and ChatApps API endpoints by 1800 requests per second per sub-account, and 3000 requests per second per IP address with no maximum daily quota will be implemented.

All requests exceeding the above-mentioned quota will be rejected by the API with “429 Too Many Requests HTTP Status”.

The API will also return the "Retry-After" HTTP header with the value indicating when the client can retry the request. The header will read - “Retry-After: 1”.

If you need to submit a higher volume of messages in bulk, please ensure to use the Batch API that allows you to submit up to 10,000 messages in a single API request. These limits can be adjusted upon request and you can do so by replying to this message to get a quota increase.

What do I need to do to be compliant?
If it is rejected due to an exceeded quota, do follow the process by submitting the message to our API.

Feel free to contact us at cpaas-support@8x8.com if you have any questions regarding this new policy. We will be happy to assist you further.
